Plan for the future
We have brought the Southern Delivery System Phase I on line on schedule and $150 million under budget.  That is $150 million in scheduled rate increases that we were able to cancel, and $150 million that stayed in your pockets.
The scrubbers for the Drake power plant are on line and the Nixon power plant are being installed. The overall project is on schedule and on budget.  This will enable our Utility to provide cost effective and reliable power into the future.

March 2017 City Council issues
Develop the long range planning
for utility systems infrastructure so that as growth occurs the utilities are
ready.
The Drake Power plant will eventually need to be replaced which could be new generation or purchased power.  Regardless of how the new power is developed the transmission lines will need to be upgraded in order to get the power to where it will be used.
Southern Delivery System Phase II will add new reservoirs and expansion of the Ed Baily Water Treatment Plant.  These upgrades will not be needed for a number of years yet but that planning needs to be done over the next several years to that we are ready before the need for water becomes critical.

Regionalization.  We have the opportunity to partner with our regional neighbors to acquire and maintain water and wastewater in a manner that benefits both our customers and the regional districts.  We are researching those possibilities now.
